Information for Land Owners
We are currently working on five residential lots in northwest Arvada. We would love to meet you if you are interested in having your property be involved in our project. Residential, business, church, school, vacant, open space or city lots are all perfect!
Our farm operates on the multi-plot urban farm model currently gaining popularity across the country. In a nutshell, landowners allow farmers to create vegetable gardens on otherwise underutilized land in exchange for a share of the food produced. Farmers sell their share of the produce in a variety of ways including farmers markets, CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) seasonal shares, and sales to local restaurants and small food stores.
Land owners get a beautiful, ever-changing garden and a deeper connection to their community. Farmers earn a living selling produce locally, wthout the overwhelming burdens of loans or other land-related debt that often spell the difference between success and failure for small scale farms. The community benefits from a local food network that connects neighborhoods, businesses and people, and that places a premium on fresh healthy food, local economy, and respectful and productive use of the land.

Benefits to Land Owners
In addition to the satisfaction of contributing a significant resource to the community and supporting a local farm operation, land owners benefit in several tangible ways as well:
Fresh food - we will supply you with up to a full share's worth of vegetables throughout the season (1 box full per week, equal to at least $500 worth of produce or enough to feed a family of 4) as well as cut flowers when they are available. This will include many unusual, heirloom varieties of vegetables and herbs not available at your grocery store.
Free yard maintenance - using organic, non-toxic methods. We will also prune, fertilize and maintain any existing fruit trees on your property if agreed.
Enhanced property value - our vegetable and flower gardens will improve the fertility and health of your soil in as little as a single growing season. A productive garden space can be a wonderful conversation piece as well as add curb appeal and real value to your property, reduce weeds and pests, and increase natural diversity by providing a welcome spot for butterflies, bees and birds.
Got kids? Gardening, especially growing food, is tremendously engaging for children and a perfect way for them to learn about where their food comes from - and how to eat what's good for them.

Land Use Agreement
When you agree to provide space for vegetable production on your land, we provide a simple, but detailed land use agreement that covers a variety of common issues of concern and releases you from liability for any of our activities. If you are interested in viewing the agreement or have any questions for us about this process, please contact us; we'd be happy to meet and answer any questions you might have about being involved.
